Carolyn Thompson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, ADHD-CCSP
I’m a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I’m also the proud owner and CEO of AKADI Mental Health Services, PLLC. I’ve been a nurse for more than 25 years. Over my nursing career, I’ve worked in several different capacities and areas of nursing such as med surg, gyn oncology, home health, case management, wound care, aesthetics, administration and now, psychiatry.
I received my primary, secondary and college education in the Houston area. I also received non-traditional education from Excelsior College (ASN), Aspen University (MSN- Admin & Management), and Herzing University (Post-Masters PMHNP). I love traveling, spending time with family, reading and dancing.
My goal as a practitioner is to team up with my patients, clients, and my community to help us live longer, healthier, happier lives. I believe everyone that I provide care and/or services deserves my best & this is what I aim to provide with each encounter.
I specialize in the management of anxiety, depression, insomnia, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. I incorporate a holistic approach to care.

Temitope Adams, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Temitope Adams is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over two decades of diverse nursing experience across acute, sub-acute, and community healthcare settings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Tech University and dual master’s degrees in Family Practice and Psychiatry from Walden University and Rocky Mountain University, respectively. He has practiced extensively in both medical and psychiatric care environments, managing pediatric and geriatric patients across the lifespan.
Throughout his career, Temitope has demonstrated expertise in primary care, addiction medicine, pain management, and behavioral health, with a strong focus on patient-centered, evidence-based care. His clinical practice includes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex medical and psychiatric conditions, psychotherapy, and medication management. He has also held leadership and administrative roles, including Director of Nursing and Health Facility Administrator, where he successfully oversaw regulatory compliance, clinical operations, and quality improvement initiatives.
Currently practicing with Akadi Mental Health Services, Temitope integrates his family practice and psychiatric expertise to provide holistic, coordinated care to patients facing psychiatric, behavioral, medical, and addiction-related challenges. Known for his compassionate approach, strong clinical judgment, and commitment to improving access to behavioral health services, he continues to advance excellence in patient outcomes and promote innovation in integrated healthcare delivery.
